Before Your Spray Tan
How should I prep for my spray tan?
Exfoliate your entire body 24 hours before your appointment- especially knees, elbows, ankles, and wrists. NO oils, lotions, deodorant, or perfume the day of your tan. A warm body shower before your appointment gives the best glow!
Can I get waxed or shaved before my tan?
Yes! Wax or shave at least 24 hours before your spray tan. Never tan right after waxing or shaving- it can cause uneven color or irritation.
How far in advance should I wax or shave before tanning?
Ideally 24–48 hours beforehand. (Perfect time to pair your wax + tan with us in one trip- we’ll help you plan the right order!)
Should I exfoliate before my spray tan?
Definitely. Use a gentle scrub or clean exfoliating mitt to remove dead skin so your tan goes on evenly and lasts longer. Skip oil-based scrubs- they can create a barrier.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Loose, dark clothing. Avoid leggings, bras, and anything tight that could rub off your tan while it’s developing.
Can I wear lotion, deodorant, or makeup before my tan?
Nope! Keep your skin clean and dry. Lotions and deodorants can block the tanning solution and cause streaks.
Can I get a spray tan if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Yes- our solutions are non-toxic and safe, but if you’re unsure, check with your doctor first. Many moms-to-be love a good glow before their baby shower or photos!
Do you offer different shades or levels of darkness?
Absolutely! We customize your color based on your skin tone, undertone, how bronzed you want to be, and when you want to shower- from a soft, natural glow to a deep, vacation-ready tan. Our solution works beautifully on all skin tones, from the lightest to the deepest.
During your spray tan appointment
How long does a spray tan appointment take?
About 20-25 minutes from start to finish. Quick, easy, and you’ll leave glowing.
Will my tan look orange?
Absolutely not! We use high-quality, custom-blended solutions that develop into your natural, sun-kissed color- never orange, never streaky. If your undertone tends to pull warm or golden, we have color-correcting products to perfectly balance it for a flawless, natural glow.
Will it stain my clothes or sheets?
There’s always a slight chance of color transfer before your first rinse, but it washes right out. Stick with loose, dark clothes just to be safe.
Do you use barrier cream on hands, knees, and feet?
Yes- we apply barrier cream before your tan, where your skin naturally absorbs more color to make sure your tan looks natural and even.
Can I wear underwear or go nude during my spray tan?
Totally up to you! Most clients wear disposable underwear or go nude for an even, seamless result- whatever makes you feel comfortable. We provide disposable hair nets, underwear, bras, and nipple covers if you’d like to use them.
After Your Spray Tan
How long should I wait before showering?
It’s completely custom to your desired shade! Your tan can be rinsed off in as little as 2-4 hours for a lighter glow or left on for up to 16+ hours for a deeper, richer color. We’ll go over your ideal rinse time during your spray tan appointment.
How long will my spray tan last?
About 7–12 days with proper care. Hydration is key- moisturize daily to extend your glow.
Can I work out, swim, or sweat after my tan?
Not for at least 24 hours. Sweating or swimming too soon can cause your tan to fade unevenly.
How can I make my tan last longer?
Moisturize daily, avoid long hot showers, and use sulfate-free body washes. Exfoliate gently before your next session for an even fade.
What products should I avoid after a spray tan?
Avoid oil-based products, retinols, and anything exfoliating- they’ll break down your color faster. We’ll recommend our favorite tan-safe products at your appointment!
Can I get a spray tan before a vacation or big event?
Definitely! Just schedule your appointment 1-2 days before so it has time to develop and settle. You’ll be perfectly bronzed for your trip or event.
How often can I get a spray tan?
Every 7-10 days is perfect for keeping a consistent glow. Just make sure you’ve gently exfoliated before your next tan.
Facial Faqs
How should I prep for my facial?
Come with clean skin if possible, and skip heavy makeup or exfoliating products 24 hours before your appointment.
Can I get a facial if I just got waxed or spray tanned?
It’s best to wait at least 24-48 hours after waxing or tanning before a facial to avoid irritation.
Can I get a facial while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Yes! We offer pregnancy-safe options using gentle, clean, and hydrating products. *Look into our Pregnancy Belly Facial too!
How do I know which facial is right for me?
We’ll take a look at your skin and talk through your goals before starting- every facial is customized to what your skin needs that day.
Do facials cause redness or breakouts?
A little redness is normal right after, but it fades quickly. Breakouts are rare and usually just your skin purging impurities. *Purging may happen if you are not consistent with skincare.
What should I avoid after my facial?
Skip heavy makeup, workouts, and direct sun for 24 hours. Keep your skin clean, cool, and hydrated.
Can I wear makeup after my facial?
Give your skin a break for the rest of the day- you’ll want to let all those good ingredients soak in!
How often should I get a facial?
Every 4–6 weeks keeps your skin balanced, clear, and glowing all year round.
What makes your facials different?
Every facial is customized, results-driven, and focused on skin health. We use clean, result-friendly products and tailor everything from steam to serums- to your unique skin type and concerns.
Before your Waxing appointment
How long should my hair be before waxing?
About the length of a grain of rice- ¼ inch. Too short, and the wax can’t grip it; too long, and it’s a little more uncomfortable. If you’ve shaved recently, give it about two weeks to grow in.
Can I wax if I’ve been shaving?
Yep! Just make sure you’ve let it grow out enough. The first time after shaving might not be 100% perfect (your hair grows in different cycles), but once you’re consistent, it gets better and smoother every time.
Should I exfoliate before my wax?
Yes please! A gentle exfoliation 24 hours before your appointment helps the wax grab the hair better and keeps skin happy. Just skip anything harsh the day of your wax.
Can I get waxed if I’m on my period?
Totally. You might be a little more sensitive, but as long as you’re wearing a tampon or cup, you’re good to go. We do this all the time- no big deal!
Anything I should avoid before my wax?
Avoid lotions, oils, self-tanner, alcohol, and caffeine right before your appointment. They can make your skin a little more sensitive.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfy, loose-fitting clothes are best. Think soft cotton and breathable fabrics that won’t irritate your freshly waxed skin.
Can I get waxed while pregnant?
Absolutely! We wax expecting mamas all the time. Our vegan, hypoallergenic wax is safe and gentle- and we’ll make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way.
Can I wax if I’m using acne meds or retinol?
If you’re using Accutane, Retin-A, or strong exfoliants, it’s best to wait and check with your dermatologist first. Those products can make your skin extra delicate.
During your Waxing appointment
Does waxing hurt?
Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but we promise it’s not as bad as you think! Our wax is gentle and made for sensitive skin- it grabs hair, not skin- so the experience is quick and way easier than expected.
How long does a Brazilian wax take?
Around 10/15 minutes! Quick- but not rushed, clean, and done- our specialty.
What kind of wax do you use?
We use a vegan, hypoallergenic wax that’s perfect for sensitive skin. It’s smooth, gentle, and leaves zero sticky residue or irritation.
Do you double dip?
Never, ever. Fresh stick every single time- always clean, always sanitary.
What if it’s my first time or I’m nervous?
Completely normal! We’ll walk you through everything and make you feel comfortable from start to finish. Most clients say it was way easier than they expected.
After your Waxing appointment
What should I do after waxing?
Keep it clean and dry, avoid heat and tight clothes for 24 hours, and skip workouts or lotions right after. Once your skin settles, exfoliate a few times a week and moisturize daily to stay smooth.
Can I shower, work out, or tan after waxing?
Hold off for 24 to 48 hours- your pores need time to relax. After that, you’re good to go!
How long do results last?
Usually 3-4 weeks. The more consistent you are, the slower and softer your regrowth will be and may take longer to grow!
How often should I get waxed?
Wax every 4-6 weeks to keep things smooth and easy- your skin stays soft, your hair grows back thinner, and your results just keep getting better each time.
How do I prevent ingrown hairs?
Regular exfoliation (2-3 times a week) + daily hydration = your best friends. We’ll recommend our gentle scrub to keep bumps away and your skin baby-soft. On your first visit, you’ll also receive a little goodie bag with aftercare essentials and after-care tips to keep your skin healthy and glowing.
Can I shave between appointments?
Nope! Shaving resets your growth cycle and makes waxing more uncomfortable next time. Stay consistent- it’s worth it!
Why do I get tiny bumps after waxing?
Totally normal! That’s your follicles reacting. They calm down fast- a cool compress or aloe will help soothe the skin.
Can I get waxed before a vacation or event?
Definitely. Just book your wax 1-2 days before to give your skin time to relax before you hit the beach, pool, or that little black dress.
What makes Waxing By Nadia different?
Do you offer men’s waxing?
Yes! We happily offer men’s waxing, but we don’t service any areas that the underwear covers.
